# From zero Mandarin to approaching original Chinese science fiction.
A long-form reading journey built around controlled vocabulary, compelling science-fiction stories, audio, shadowing and intelligent repetition.

## Twenty 30-day modules. One continuous path.
The programme is designed as 20 modules of 30 daily readings. Early modules use short controlled stories; later modules grow into connected episodes, novellas and sustained science-fiction narratives.

## The method

### Understand
Read material built around what you already know, with new language introduced where the story makes it inferable.

### Practise
Listen to the same language, read it again and shadow the audio so recognition becomes faster and more automatic.

### Reinforce
Important words return through later stories and simple spaced repetition.

## Stage 1: First Contact
The opening stage contains four modules: **First Contact**, **The Reply**, **The Map in the Signal** and **The Visitor**.

The purpose is not to make beginner Chinese childish. The language is controlled; the motives, mystery and consequences are not.

## No fake shortcuts
AI can remove friction and help us control vocabulary more precisely. It cannot replace the accumulated exposure required for real reading ability.
